Your Vision, Brought to Life

THE MURAL PAINTING PROCESS

A woman with red hair, glasses, and freckles is washing her hands at a sink. She is wearing a white sleeveless top with buttons. The background features a green marbled wall with a painted tree and white flowers.

As a mural artist, I create bespoke hand-painted wall interiors for a diverse range of clients across the UK, from private homeowners and wellness spaces to schools, hospitality venues and creative businesses. Every mural is completely unique, with collaboration at the heart of the process from the initial concept through to the final brushstroke.

I paint for both adults and children, creating murals as individual as the spaces and people they are designed for. From intricate botanical feature walls and atmospheric, large-scale landscapes to playful storybook scenes for children’s nurseries – your vision has no limits.

Many of my commissions come through repeat clients, personal recommendations and commercial collaborations. My clients come to me looking for something distinctive — artwork that feels considered, adds individuality to a space and creates a lasting visual impact, whether in their own home or within a commercial interior.

Our Process

  • Develop the Brief

We start with a conversation about your ideas, the space and what you want the mural to achieve. I consider the architecture, proportions, light and existing interiors to establish a clear direction for the design.

  • Geometric drawing of an outline square with sections divided by vertical, horizontal, and half circle lines.

    Create Together

Collaboration is at the heart of every commission. I develop the initial concept through sketches, colour palettes, materials, textures and visual references, sharing ideas with you throughout the process and refining the design together.

  • Geometric drawing of an outline square with sections divided by vertical, horizontal, and circle lines.

    Hand Paint

Once the final design is approved, I transfer the artwork onto the wall and begin painting by hand. I work carefully through each stage, from the overall composition to the finer details, adapting to the character and scale of the space as the mural develops.

  • Geometric drawing of an outline square with sections divided by vertical, horizontal, and diagonal lines.

    The Finished Mural

With the painting complete, the finished mural becomes part of the space it was designed for. The final result is an original piece of artwork, made specifically for the client, interior and setting.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT EACH STAGE…

From the first conversation to the final brushstroke, I offer a considered and professional service, with clear communication and attention to detail throughout.

I am fully insured and take care to protect your furniture, flooring and surrounding interiors, maintaining a clean and respectful working environment throughout the painting process.

01 Initial Consultation

Every commission begins with a conversation. Get in touch with an outline of your ideas, the type of mural or artwork you have in mind and, if possible, photographs and approximate dimensions of the space.

This gives me a starting point to understand your vision and the character of the interior. From there, I develop the initial creative direction and provide a bespoke design proposal and quotation free of charge.

02 Design Development

Once the project is agreed, I develop the mural design through sketches, colour palettes, imagery, materials and references. Designs are created specifically for your space, taking into account its architecture, proportions and existing interiors.

I work collaboratively throughout this stage, refining the artwork with you before the final design is approved. Where helpful, I can also produce sample boards to explore specific colours, finishes or paint effects.

03 Hand Painting

Once the design is approved, the artwork is carefully transferred to the wall and painted entirely by hand. I work without stencils or projections, allowing the design to remain flexible and giving me the freedom to respond to the scale and character of the space.

I use high-quality, low-odour paints and carefully selected finishes appropriate to the environment. Colours can be mixed and matched to complement existing interiors, fabrics or specific design schemes, creating a truly bespoke result.

An elderly woman with long curly blonde hair is painting a colorful illustration of animals and characters in a forest setting outdoors. She is holding a brush with her right hand and the painting features various animals and characters including a rabbit, and a person wearing a top hat, among others.

MORE THAN A PAINTED WALL

A bespoke mural transforms how a space is experienced, giving clients and guests something unique to discover and remember. Designed specifically for the interior and painted by hand, each piece is sophisticated, timeless and entirely bespoke — an original artwork created to complement the space and last for years to come.
